Tumescent liposuction patients usually remain awake for this particular liposuction process. This way the attending doctor can converse with the patient and get a general idea of what he or she is thinking and how they are reacting to the results of the surgery. This liposuction process is less traumatic than other processes because there is less bleeding, no bruising and offers a quicker recovery.
Ultrasonic sound waves are used in liposuction combined with the tools traditionally used with tumescent liposuction. Liposuction patients are injected with the same medications, but the one difference is the tube inserted into the patient for the draining of extra fat material is fitted with an ultrasound device that transmits high frequency waves that burst the fat cells and then suction the remains out.
